Chris Bryant Appointed Selectman

Board of Finance member Chris Bryant was appointed to the Board of Selectmen in a virtual meeting with the board on Thursday morning.

Mr. Bryant will resign from the finance board and complete the unexpired term of Selectman Tony Pesco, who announced his resignation last week, effective on October 31. Mr. Bryant was unanimously nominated for the appointment by the Democratic Town Committee.

Mr. Bryant was first elected to the Board of Finance in 2023. He told the selectmen that he and his family moved from New York City to Weston in 2021.

Since then, at various times he has served as treasurer of the intermediate school PTO, the middle school PTO, the Weston Community Fund, and the Memorial Day Fair. He launched the fair’s Route 57 WestFest music festival in 2024.

Mr. Bryant said a 30-year business career launching, growing, and exiting several businesses has given him an understanding about the importance of building relationships, reaching consensus, and “discovering what’s possible before trying to decide what you want to accomplish.”
