Four Saugatuck Rowing Club members informally known as “The Westies” take to the waters of the famous Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston and Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday, October 17, all in support of cancer patients and survivors, having been there themselves.

Sean Costello, Mike Nestor, Joe Quinn and John Traynor, residents of either Fairfield, Westport or Weston, will compete in the Men’s Veterans Fours under the banner of the Survivor Rowing Network and a theme: “Beating cancer was just the warm-up. Now comes Head of the Charles.”

The Head of the Charles is the largest three-day rowing regatta in the world. The event attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators as more than 10,000 rowers compete in over 70 events.
