Beth Gralnick, 83

Elizabeth “Beth” Baumgart Gralnick, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Jeffrey C. Gralnick. Born in Manhattan, New York, on December 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Stella (Lacher) Baumgart. Beth was a longtime resident of Weston, Connecticut.

Beth graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science and began her career at CBS, where she spent several years as a producer before meeting Jeff. The two were married on August 15, 1969, and spent 41 years together until his passing in 2011.

Beth and Jeff moved to Weston in 1973. While raising her two children, Beth became deeply involved in the community. She was active in the Weston High School athletics program, providing administrative support. She also served on the Weston Democratic Town Committee, contributing to local campaigns, community outreach, and civic engagement. Beth was elected to the Weston Police Commission in 1989 and served multiple terms as both commissioner and chair throughout the rest of her life.

Beth adored her dogs; each one was a treasured companion throughout her life. She was an avid knitter, creating many handmade pieces for friends and family. Beth also enjoyed her daily New York Times crossword puzzles and spending peaceful afternoons by the pool.

She is survived by her two children, Robert Howard Gralnick and his wife Phebe Parkin, and Kate Surber and her husband Timothy; her grandson, Adam Gralnick; and her niece, Sarah Baumgart. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Baumgart.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
