A security protocol went into effect at Weston Middle School on Tuesday morning following an anonymous bomb threat, one of several in the state this week.

Weston Police were assisted by officers and canine units from Westport, which received a similar threat yesterday, and by the Stamford Police Department’s bomb squad.

No explosive devices were found in a thorough search inside and outside the school building, so the security protocol was lifted and school resumed as normal.

The incident is under investigation, and Weston Police report that “there are no known credible threats to public safety.”

On Monday, a similar threat was received at Bedford Middle School in Westport, where special security measures were also taken. Shortly afterward, according to the Westport Police, “other agencies around the state began receiving calls of a similar nature, suggesting that this was potentially part of an organized hoax.”
