Democrats Endorse Judge Wexler

Probate Judge Lisa Wexler won the Democratic endorsement for reelection on May 21 by acclamation at the party’s convention.

Judge Wexler was first elected to the court in a 2013 special election and won full terms in 2014, 2018, and 2022. In accepting the nomination, she said, “I love doing this work and I thank you for allowing me the privilege to keep doing it.”

“Most people are not happy to find themselves in probate court. We remember that every day and do our best to be compassionate and kind. I hope that I can continue to serve you with distinction for the next four years.”

Judge Wexler was nominated by Westport attorney Andrew Nevas, who said, “I feel confident in saying that I have never appeared before a judge with as much compassion and empathy as Judge Wexler. She always hones in on the issues that are most important to the people involved.”

The nomination was seconded by Mary Francois, chair of the Weston Democratic Town Committee.

A Westport resident since 1989, Judge Wexler is a graduate of The New York University School of Law and The Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of the Connecticut and New York Bars and other state and local bar associations. She closed her local law practice when she was elected to the court.
