5K Draws Record Numbers

Weather may have washed out most of Memorial Day weekend, but at least the 5K Road Race and Kids Fun Run managed to get underway on Saturday before rain came down in earnest.

A record number of participants, possibly hitting the 1,200 mark, were either runners on the three-mile-plus loop around the center of town or kids dashing around the high school track.

Those who registered for the 5K and also signed up for October’s Reservoir Run are entered into a drawing for two free round trip tickets on Jet Blue, going anywhere in the world the airline flies. If you registered for the 5K — even if you didn’t actually run — you can still get into the drawing by registering for the Reservoir Run by May 31.
