TNC Seeks Trail Adopters

Nature preserves need a bit of TLC too, so The Nature Conservancy is looking for volunteers to help care for the 20 miles of trails at Devil’s Den Preserve.

Volunteer “trail adopters” walk the trails, monitor and report on conditions, remove fallen branches, trim overgrown vegetation, and assist from time to time with other projects that arise, such as addressing erosion issues and removing invasive plants.

Those interested can get more information and register, by June 1, for two required training sessions by emailing Martha Rice at mrice@tnc.org. An online training session will be held on Wednesday June 3 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. In‑person training takes place on Saturday June 13 from 9:00 am to noon.
