Inauguration Day in Weston

Most newly elected and reelected Weston officials were sworn in at Town Hall on Wednesday, the oath of office administered by Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz.
Rabbi Michael Friedman of Temple Israel delivered the invocation, and the Weston High School Choral Group sang the National Anthem.
“Today we are celebrating our democracy and the people who have stepped up to serve their community,” said Ms. Bysiewicz. “Literally,” she said, “our government could not function if we did not have people willing to step up and use their time and their talents to make this beautiful town even better.”
First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor was the last to be sworn in, so had the last word.
“We’re all neighbors,” said Ms. Nestor. “I cannot think of a better job that all of us now have than serving each other, taking care of our neighbors, keeping them safe, and making their lives better.”
