“Weston at Work” Set to Open

A new exhibition opening soon at the Weston History & Culture Center explores 19th and early 20th century agriculture, manufacturing, and textile production in Weston and Connecticut.
The interactive “Weston at Work” exhibition includes numerous historic images, rare Bradley Axe tools, farming implements, and a working loom. Kids can enjoy carding wool, weaving on a loom, using a rope and pulley to raise a bale of hay, and more.
The exhibition opens on Sunday, October 5 from 1:00 to 4:00. For the opening, admission is free and there is no need to register.
Highlights include the stories, struggles, and successes of people who helped put Weston to work in eras past, including immigrants, people of African descent, men, women, and children who helped create a vibrant industrial and agricultural history for Weston.
After opening day, “Weston at Work” will be open on Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00 and, with the same hours, on the Sundays of November 2 and 7. General admission prices are $5 for adults, $3 for children ages five to 17. Admission is free for WHCC members and any child age four and under.
