Weston police officer Jason Heibeck was promoted to the rank of sergeant in a Town Hall ceremony on July 11. He has been a Weston officer since 2015, having served in the Redding department since 2006.

Police Commission vice chair Peter Ottomano officiated, and Fr. Augustine of St. Francis of Assisi delivered the invocation.

The oath of office was administered by First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor as Sgt. Heibeck’s wife, children, family, colleagues, and police officials from neighboring towns looked on.

“I love the town of Weston,” said Sgt. Heibeck. “I will work hard to continue to have a great environment for the citizens of Weston. Thank you for the opportunity.”

“Having Jason work here is a great asset to the town,” said Chief Ed Henion. In hiring and promoting, he said, “we look for dedication, passion, thoroughness, and empathy for the public. Jason is all of that.”
