“Weston Connections” on Display

Art in a new exhibition is now on display in the Weston Public Library Community Room, there for the entire month of July.

Nancy Klein of the arts commission and artist Cindy Wagner organized the exhibition.

Items in the “Weston Connections” exhibition are by artists with ties to Weston or whose work depicts local subjects. A call for submissions went out in April from the Weston Commission for the Arts and Friends of the Weston Library, drawing a strong response.

A reception at the library on July 9 is an opportunity to hear from the artists about their link to Weston and what inspired their work. It starts at 6:00 pm. Opportunities to learn and practice art occur later in the month.

In connection with Weston Connections, a program led by portrait artist Cindy Wagner on July 12 is an opportunity for adults to draw a live, clothed model. The session runs from 1:00 to 4:00. You can register by email to cindywagnerart@gmail.com, and need to bring your own supplies.

On July 26, young artists age eight to 18 can learn drawing in a class with professional artists. The program runs from 1:30 to 3:30. Participants can be registered by email to Ms. Wagner.
