Sunday Soundscapes Goes Baroque

On May 5, Sunday Soundscapes returns to the Weston Public Library with a concert by the Baroque Virtuosity Trio, three accomplished musicians performing works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean-Marie Leclair, Arcangello Corelli, and others.

The show starts at 4:00. It’s a good idea to reserve a seat.

The musicians …

Kinga Augustyn, a versatile New York City-based virtuoso concert violinist and recording artist, has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world. Venues include the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Teatro Ristori in Verona, Italy, and Teatro Municipal de Las Condes in Santiago, Chile.

Harpsichordist Rebecca Pechefsky has also performed at the Weill Recital Hall, as well as Merkin Hall and the Harpsichord Center in California. Recent European engagements include recitals in Estonia, London, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Paris. Her recordings for Quill Classics include the award-winning “Bach and His Circle.”

On lute, Christopher Morrongiello is a musicologist, performer, teacher, luthier, impresario, and director who specializes in early music. As a recitalist on historical plucked instruments, he has performed to critical acclaim throughout Europe and the United States. He has recorded for EMI, Avie, Gamut Music, the Lute Society of America, Visionaire, and the BBC.

Sunday Soundscapes is a program by the Friends of the Weston Library. The suggested donation at the door is $20 for adults, $10 for students, or an amount more manageable.
