Residents of Fanton Hill Road came to the Police Commission on September 5, requesting installation of a stop sign at the road's intersection with Old Easton Turnpike.
They got what they came for. The commissioners approved; the sign and a stop bar stripe were installed by Public Works two days later.
The winding, hilly road is quite narrow, and according to residents at the meeting, no one observes the speed limit, which for much of it is 15 miles per hour.
A stop sign already existed at Old Easton Turnpike heading down Fanton Hill toward Lyons Plain Road. Now the intersection is a three-way stop.
