It was a nice evening for a bonfire on Saturday at Emmanuel Church.
Proceeds from the event, donations made by residents who want their holiday trees added to the blaze, go to the Weston Warm-Up Fund, which helps low-income Weston residents pay for the oil, gas, or electricity needed to heat their homes.
Volunteers at Emmanuel organize the event about this time every year. The Weston Volunteer Fire Department supervises the bonfire.
Donations can be made to the Warm-Up Fund year-round at westonwarmup.com.
